If there are things that you think could improve your visit with us we would very much like to hear about them.

Thank you for staying with us and haste ye back!

Had a wonderful week and a half at Bracara Cottage. Quiet and serene, it was a lovely place to stay and escape the city. The hills are wonderful and plenty of gorgeous walks nearby. The cottage was very cozy with ample room to cook and relax. Will definitely return in the future.

Mike,

We were with our two children 4 & 9. We all had a fabulous time. The cottage was beautiful and set in stunning countryside. Games and toys for the kids too. Would throughly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.

Peter,

What a perfect house and location to relax and explore the west highlands.
Had a great week.
Highlights were paddle boarding in the Sound of Arisaig with only the seals for company and the great walking over to Loch Nevis and to Tarbet.
Ben and Tess.

Ben Ryan,

We loved our holiday on the West coast and our stay at Bracara Cottage. It was well equipped, cosy and in beautiful scenery. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the evening sun and views without any bothering midgies which was amazing! The walk down the glen to catch the ferry at Tarbet was stunning. Thank you!

Caroline Beresford ,

We had a lovely time at Bracara Cottage, which we found to be a very relaxing and comfortable base to explore the surrounding area. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds comfy, and Sky tv kept the kids happy. Highlights of the week being a day trip to Eigg on The Shearwater from Arisaig ( 5 hours ashore is enough time to get to the top of An Sgurr), and walking back to Bracara from Tarbet, having got the ferry from Mallaig to Tarbet. Although we didn't see any, we could hear pinemartins calling to each other at night, which was a unique experience we've not encountered before. The completely enclosed garden, was perfect for our wee dog, as he could run around without any worry that he could escape.

Iain Dow,

Had a lovely few days here with my sister and dog. House is lovely and well equipped. Lucky to have lovely weather. Very peaceful and ideal for walks and visits to the spectacular beaches nearby. Saw some wildlife while we were staying there.
If you want peace and tranquillity I highly recommend.

Lorraine Rose,

We have had a lovely week in this very welcoming house and will not hesitate to return. Absolutely spotless, comfy beds and everything we might have possibly needed in the way of kitchen utensils. The house was cosy and warm when we arrived after a very long drive from Gloucestershire but we didn’t take long in lighting the log burner also. Marion was very helpful with our booking from start to finish and with any queries we had. The deafening silence of the area is a balm to the soul so if it’s escape from the you mayhem you are looking for this place fits the bill. Beautiful beaches so close to the house and if you are lucky you sometimes have them to yourself. A beautiful bit of the world. Thank you for allowing us to share your home. Julie,

Wonderful week at Bracara exploring the ‘Road to the Isles’ and spending some quality time in a beautiful location.

House is really well equipped and furnished and the hosts were really responsive.

Highly recommend walking along the loch and over to Tarbet to catch ferry back to Mallaig. It was a 20k walk in total but could have caught the train/ taxi to reduce length.

Make sure you book sea kayaking in advance. Fabulous experience but v.popular in high season - we almost missed out.

Jeremy & Adam,

We had a fantastic stay in Marion’s house.

Nested in the hills a short drive from Mallaig and a couple of miles from our favourite beach, Cambusdarach.

The house was spotless and had everything you needed including a coffee frother, which made our coffee extra special😀

Kids loved it, even the teens were happy with the choice of movies and internet access.

All round a successful holiday in a beautiful
house in an amazing part of the world.

Claire MacLaren,

Lovely house, stunning location, friendly and helpful owner

Beautiful location, off the beaten track but short drive to shops & civilisation at Mallaig. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture in a warm and well refurbished cottage.

Marion was super helpful and responsive.

Couldn’t be happier that I found this little gem.

Highly recommended.

Simon via Homeaway,

Sarah's house really exceeded our expectations and was even better than it appeared in the photos.

It was decorated really tastefully, and to a really high spec. It was also very well equipped and cooking for a large group was really easy. The location is perfect, with views over Loch Morar (stunning in the morning when you get up) and it's very close to the sea.

We enjoyed walking near the house, as well as taking the car to the coast. The extensive garden was also a plus, and is perfect for kids to play in. Sarah's communication was really reliable, and she always responded promptly.

We would definitely consider renting this house again!

Bracara Cottage is Well appointed, modern, stylish and a perfect location for exploring Morar, Arisaig & Mallaig.

We will be back!

Thanks for your help Marion.

Gareth Williams,

A lovely cottage in a great location.

Very well provided for with everything that you could want.

Very clear access instructions and excellent communications with the host.

Hope to be back in better weather!

Neil - Review via Airbnb,

Sarah's home is a beautiful and comfortable home in one of the most beautiful nature sights I have ever seen.

We regretted very very much, that we could only stay there for 3 nights. I could have spent there many weeks - it was so wonderful.

A day before we had our first kayaking tour, nearby on the isle of skye, floating along with seals - this was the only thing that was as amazing as your place!

For those teenagers that are not that keen into such an incredible rural experience, it was yet a cosy place with lots of good movies and a stunning view with lovely sheeps everywhere. Harry Potter for the youngsters, 'Local Hero' - beach for us parents :-) Just unspeakable beautiful - we dream of coming back to you !!!

Amazing house and stunning location! House is beautiful, kitchen is more than well equipped, couches are comfy for after a long day exploring and everyone slept well in the beds. Can't wait to go back! Kids loved the fact that our neighbours were sheep and there was lots for them to explore.

Clair Wightman ,

We had a great time. we could do many walks. the house is beautiful and the view unforgettable! we hope to come back a day. everything is perfect and very comfortable. thank you for all your presents. we all enjoyed it even if it is far from the city but it is the charm and calm that is nice

Helene - via Airbnb,

When I first contacted Sarah, it was in a panic, as the other accommodation we had booked in Arisaig was cancelled at the last minute. Sarah responded quickly and was incredibly helpful, doing her very best to cater to our odd party-size, even recommending neighbouring properties that we could let in the event that Bracara was not enough. We arrived to the most lovely welcome gift, and were blown away by the facilities, cleanliness and idyllic location. We had the most perfect stay, and the Canadian guests had a wonderful introduction to the West Coast of Scotland. Thank you so much - we definitely hope to be back, and would recommend Bracara Cottage to anyone!

Jessica Insley ,

An excellent cottage- beautiful situation, nicely refurbished and very well equipped. I would highly recommend

nizam mamode,

Well equipped cottage with beautiful views from the garden. Although you would need a car, the location is only 15 mins away from Mallaig and the stunning white beaches around Morar and Arisaig. We visited Rum and Eigg by the Calmac ferry out of Mallaig, and went sea kayaking around Arisaig. Sitting above Loch Morar, the cottage has recently been fully refurbished to a high standard. Both the weather and the midges were kind to us, and we were sad to leave. A great week.

Jim Lennie,

I had the joy of staying at Bracara Cottage in the first week of July 2017 with my two children. The house is fitted with all mod cons (including Sky freeview TV and extraordinary good Wi -Fi connection which pleased the children!) and is delightfully decorated and maintained. The dining kitchen was very spacious and the living room charming and comfy, we especially enjoyed the wood burner in the cooler evenings. The house has magnificent views of Loch Morar and is a short drive from the villages of Morar and Mallaig and the famous and still unspoiled Camsusdarch beach. I heartily recommend here for a family holiday.

Jane Oglethorpe,

Fantastic cottage in an ideal location. Great views over the loch and stunning beaches nearby. The cottage is very spacious and modern with big bedrooms, kitchen and living room. It was our first time in this part of Scotland and we'll definitely be back!

Chris & Fiona,

Beautiful house and beautiful location, house spec to the highest level - set in a quiet scenic location short drive from Mallaig and Arisaig. Easy access to Loch Morar and silver sandy beaches. Family thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend at the cottage - kids tried fishing for the first time and rediscovering board games.

Sharon forrester,

A home from home. The house was perfectly kitted out and great for the family. Lots to do in the area and beautiful surroundings. Very sad to leave and quite disoriented since we got back, it was so good.
